WE NEED MORE VOLUNTEERS AND COMMITTEE MEMBERS …

The Reading Room, as most of you will know is Neasham’s village hall which is run as a charity by a small committee with three trustees. It has been well supported over the years by village residents and provides a range of successful community events, as well as a welcoming venue for a variety of different classes and clubs.

We are losing some committee members in April, so are now looking for more volunteers to either join the committee or to register as volunteers to help with events. We are particularly looking for people who, with help and support are interested in organising events including large events e.g Duck Derby, Christmas Dance and other social events.

In addition, I have informed my fellow trustees and committee members that I will be standing again for the forthcoming year (April 2019 to April 2020) and that if elected it will be my last year as Chair. I hope that this will give the opportunity to work with someone who is prepared to take over the role and allow for a full and effective handover.

If you are interested in supporting the Reading Room as a volunteer, committee member or as Chair please email NeashamRR@gmail.com giving the details; Name/Address/Email/Phone/How you could support,
no later than Monday 29th April.

Our next AGM is on Tuesday 30th April at 7.00pm. We hope to see you there.

Chair, Neasham Reading Room

Neasham Community Walks around the Boundary of Neasham Parish

Historically, communities performed a Parish perambulation - an annual walk/ride to affirm the boundaries of the Parish (ie beating the bounds).  As far as we know, this has never happened in Neasham.

Therefore, we have decided to plan one for 2019 and we invite Neasham residents (and their friends)to join us, to meet other residents and to discover parts of Neasham Parish you may have never seen before.

A series of walks have been planned around Neasham Parish using the walks listed in the Neasham Reading Room website.  These walks are of various lengths and are family friendly and healthy!. We encourage walkers of all ages and abilities to join us in this community event.  Each walk will start and end at Neasham Reading Room.
